January is hard

Let me start by saying, we get it.

There's Christmas still to pay off, alongside a cost of living crisis. There's the annual health kick.

But, we also want to keep our local, independent businesses. The current climate is making it harder for such businesses to exist; we need creators to take huge personal financial risks to create things we value for our community, in a world where the returns are diminishing.

We're incredibly lucky, compared to many of our peers who we've spoken to. Our direct customer orders are about 50% less than January 2025, but our wholesale customers bridge that gap, as that side of the business has flourished.

Of course costs have skyrocketed. Just like the domestic cost of living crisis, our flour, ingredient, energy costs have risen enormously. Along with increased cost of employing staff, and hugely subsidising delivery costs. Even with these challenges, we have absorbed the costs, and for now, not reflected the increased cost of production by raising our prices for customers.

We'd really appreciate your support, now more than ever, in whatever form that comes. Recommending us to new potential suppliers, sharing our posts on social media, and of course, by buying our goods when you are able to!
